General motoring advice
- Rush hour in built up areas:
- At the end of working hours - 1600 - 1700hrs - most of the city roads are crowded
- Fuel:
- The number of service stations outside major cities has increased in recent years
- Most service stations have a mini market and cafe bar
- All types of petrol available (euro diesel, unleaded 95,98,99, leaded 98)
- Credit cards are accepted at very few major fuel stations within the Sarejevo area (check with card issuer regarding use of card in Bosnia)
- Petrol in a can is not permitted
- Most of the petrol stations are open 24/7
- Parking advice:
- In most cities there is a charge for parking
- In most cities the districts 1, 2 and 3 are parking zones
- Parking regulation in district 1 is from Mon-Fri 0700 – 2000hrs with no time limit
- Vouchers can be obtained from automatic machines or from an official parking attendant and must be clearly displayed on the windscreen of the car
- Parking is forbidden where it is clearly sign posted NO PARKING
- If you park in one of these areas, the car will be towed away and a police charge of €67,00 imposed
