Road rules
- Vehicles drive on the right hand side of the road
- A motorist driving towards a roundabout has right of way if the roundabout is not controlled by traffic lights or the right of way is not indicated with a specific traffic sign
- Trams always have priority
- Where the speed limit is 60 kmh (40mph) or lower buses have priority when leaving a bus stop
- Headlights must be used at all times
- Use of horns in towns and villages is illegal except in the case of immediate and extreme danger
- Otherwise, horns and headlights should be used when poor visibility demands
Driving regulations
- Minimum age for rental:
21 years of age
There is a fee for drivers under 25 years - Driving Licence:
- Valid Full Driving Licence
- Non-Europeans must carry an International Driving Permit
