Road rules
- Vehicles drive on the right hand side of the road
- Road signs are easy to understand since they contain no text and most resemble European signs
- Overtaking is illegal when approaching a train crossing without a barrier
- Multi-tone horns are illegal
- Use of a vehicle's horn in towns is allowed only in cases of immediate and extreme danger
- In the event of an accident, drivers who have a camera to hand should photograph the area and those involved in the incident and, in particular, any signs of poor road repair
Driving regulations
- Minimum age for rental:
- 21 years of age
- Rental rates may be higher for renters aged 21-24
- Driving Licence:
- A European Union driving licence or a USA driving licence is valid
- Non-Europeans must carry an International Driving Permit
