Road conditions in Jordan are not particularly good with much maintenance and repair being carried out on an on-going basis. In particular, visitors should be aware that much of the maintenance of the roads takes place in the winter and especially at night.
City Driving
-
Many streets in the city and town centres are painfully narrow with locals at times parking recklessly, with many not obeying road signs
Country Driving
-
As most of Jordan is made up of mountains, driving can be difficult especially at rush hours and on weekends when most of the workers head for their homes outside of the capital of Amman
-
The country roads also lack road signs and lighting, so care should be taken, especially at night
