Road rules
- Vehicles drive on the right hand side of the road
- Motorists must give way to traffic entering from the right unless otherwise specified by road signs
- All vehicles must use dipped headlights at all times
- Trams always have priority
- If there is no island at a tram stop, drivers are obliged to give way to passengers crossing from pavement
- Horns can only be used in built up areas if there is extreme danger
- Outside built up areas horns or headlights must be used to signal the driver’s intention to overtake
- Game, moose and deer all represent a danger on many roads especially at dawn and dusk
Driving regulations
- Minimum age for rental:
21 years of age
Rental rates may be higher for renters aged 21-24 - Driving Licence:
- Valid Full Driving Licence
- International Driving Permit
