Dubai and Abu Dhabi have serious traffic congestion made worse by inexperienced drivers. Driving is hazardous and visitors need to be careful at all times. A written Police Report is required from the nearest Police station for all accidents.

City Driving

• All the city roads are of premium quality

• The intense heat in Dubai during the summer months means a parked car becomes like an oven inside when parked in the sun. It is worthwhile getting some windscreen shades

Country Driving

• Do not consider driving in the desert unless accompanied by a trained professional and a suitable large 4x4 vehicle

• National Car Rental vehicles taken “off road” are not covered by any insurance
